The company

A small company that runs pono.

Pono Data Solutions is a small Hawaii-based company, a Delaware C-corp, with three lines of work: public-record data, the software we build on top of it, and the sites we ship for clients. Pono is not a slogan here. It is the way the work is built, and you can check it.

How we work

Four habits, not a feeling.

Each one is built into the product, where you can open it and check.

W-01

Every row carries a source you can open

Accuracy is not a promise, it is a link. Each record we return names where it came from and ships a source you can click and read. If a row has no source, it does not go out.

Accuracy
W-02

A run that finds nothing costs nothing

Tools and feeds charge on a delivered result, not on the attempt. If a lookup comes back empty, you are not billed. We would rather meter honestly than sell you noise.

Fairness
W-03

One-click data removal, no account

If you are in a public-record dataset and want out, you do not have to sign up to ask. One form, no login, and we take the row down.

Relationship
W-04

We run our own software before we ship it

The tools we sell are the tools we use. The desktop we build runs on the machine this was written on. We do not ship a thing we would not stand in front of.

Honesty
The name

Named for the standard it is held to.

Pono is a Hawaiian word. It carries a plain idea: in proper order, correct, done well, set right. It is the word in the Hawaii state motto, Ua mau ke ea o ka ʻāina i ka pono, words attributed to 1843. We do not claim the culture and we do not lecture about the word. We just try to earn it in small ways: a row that is sourced, a price that is fair, a person who can leave when they want to.
